The Lion King

Director The movie The Lion King is one movie that a family can enjoy from all ages. This movie was directed by Roger Allen and Rob Minkoff.
In the movie The Lion King, the plot of the movie is very interesting. When the movie opens up the cub of the King and Queen of the jungle has been born and being introduced to the entire jungle. In the jungle there is a circle of life, meaning that eventually that cub will become the king of the Jungle one day so it was mandatory that all of the other species came to acknowledge him. Throughout the movie Mufasa teaches his son Simba about the responsibilities of being a King.

Since Simba was born, he knocked Mufasa’s brother scar out of the circle of one day becoming King. Scar did not like the fact that this has happened so he finds ways to get Simba in life or death situations. After several attempts he succeeded by murdering his brother Mufasa, as his baby cub Simba watched. Scared and afraid Simba left Pride Rock, following his Uncles Scar instructions. Scar then became king of pride rock which ended up being bad for the rest of the jungle. Starvation swept over the entire circle of life of pride rock.

Starvation occurred in pride rock, meaning the hunting lions were forced to go outside of their kingdom to search for food and water. As Nala simbas old friend was out hunting she ran into Simba. She then informed him of how Pride Rock is being ran under Scars control. After hearing the bad news, he was then convinced to go back and take his place in the circle of life as being the King of pride rock. It wasn’t easy he had to fight with scar which ended with scar being eaten alive.

I would consider this film to be presented in chronological order. Me being the audience I could follow the movie very well. As a young child and even today as an adult, I don’t think that the movie needs any changes. The Character development was played out perfectly. Human beings are aware that other species look alike but watching the Lion Kings further informs you of how genetics play a major role in animals. As Simba developed from being a cub to a grown Lion, he went through his growing stages and was a spitting image of his father. When his mother saw him for the first time in many years she called him Mufasa, because he looked exactly like his dad. Even his friend Nala grew to look just like her mom and the rest of the female lions in their tribe.

I do wonder how this movie would have be different if Mufasa was never killed. Hypothetically speaking, I would guess that their land would have never suffered a starvation period because seeing how the land was before he died, it seemed perfect. All of the animals of the jungle seemed healthy. If Mufasa would have been alive the entire movie, his son simba would have never ran away either. This would have changed the entire movie. Instead making major mistakes, Mufasa would have been there to guide his son every step of the way for being the future king.

The foreshadowing in this movie had a twist to me. I say this because there were some parts where you thought you knew what was going to happen but something totally different happened. Like when Simba had the fight with scar, there was a point when Simba ended up being in the same position that his father was in before he was murdered. This mad me think that Simba was about to be murdered the exact same way. Instead he grew so much strength instantly when Scar revealed that he was the killer of Mufasa.
